Moving into website development was a natural progression for us. Creating an effective website requires more than just the ability to write HTML (the code behind a website)—you must also have an eye for good design.
As members of the HTML Writers Guild, we stay up on what works and what doesn’t on the Web. Our professional designers work their magic designing attractive, effective, and unique websites. We follow the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid). Our own site applies this golden rule.
There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting what seems like an eternity for a page to load. Flashy animations are cool, but they may cost you visitors who don’t want to waste time waiting for a page to display or having to download plug-ins. They don’t add to the effectiveness of the site. Even more aggravating to many web surfers are sites that start playing music or some other sound file, especially when there’s no obvious way to turn it off. While we’ll give you what you want, we caution against too many "bells and whistles" in most cases.
On the other hand, websites, when well thought out and executed, can greatly benefit a company. They provide prospective customers 24-hour access to your business. More and more, people are using the web to research a company before they decide whether to do business with them. Your website can give them the information they need to make that decision.
